All Clean

Monday, November 27, 2006 - light rain in the middle of the night, lasting through the early morning, then things cleared out. Los Angeles is all clean. In order - looking north from Mulholland Drive, the city from high over Hollywood, the sun setting over the Hollywood Hills, and the half-moon.

Abstracts - A Brown Study

Had to stick around home today - expecting phone calls - so experimenting with abstracts seemed like a good idea. Feathers will do.

Autumn Light
Even at noon, the autumn light is long - the sun isn't right overhead at this time of year. You get good shadows and odd backlighting. Below, Manhattan Beach, just south of LAX, late October -

Sunset on Sunset
Monday, November 6 - a November heat wave, with brutally clear skies, no humidity and a high in the nineties - big brush fires out in Rialto, threatening homes - just another day in paradise. But the sunset was good.

An hour before sunset, men at work on the Sunset Strip -
